Innovating EdTech: Transforming Special Education Management

SantoshKumar Pulijala, a Senior Software Developer at the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), has made significant contributions to advancing education technology through his work on two critical projects: the Illinois Purchased Care Review Board (IPCRB) and the Special Education Private Facility (SEPF) system.
As the Team Lead for the IPCRB project, Santosh spearheaded the development of a sophisticated system to review and approve costs for nonpublic facilities providing special education services. This system ensures compliance with state regulations while optimizing the use of educational funds. He single-handedly developed the Private Facility Calendar module, creating a centralized platform for managing school attendance schedules for special education programs throughout the state. This innovation streamlined communication between facilities and ISBE, significantly reducing administrative overhead and improving accuracy in scheduling.
Santosh then transitioned to the Private Facility Management module, where he collaborated with a team to enhance approval processes, monitoring systems, and financial management for special education facilities. His contributions to both modules have markedly improved the quality and efficiency of special education services in Illinois.
