One of my key achievements includes upgrading Oracle Database from 12c to 19c, which improved performance, security, and compliance while saving over $100,000 in operational costs also without compromising performance. Additionally, I designed and implemented a High Availability, Business Continuity, and Data Guard environment, saving the university $200,000+ and ensuring uninterrupted operations.
I have a proven track record of optimizing database performance and uptime. By reducing the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) for reporting databases from 24 hours to 5 seconds, I significantly improved data availability and business continuity. I also enhanced database uptime to 99.99%, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability. My efforts in enterprise security have directly benefited and protected the data of 18,000+ students and staff, strengthening the university’s cybersecurity posture.
Beyond my role at Lamar University, I have led transformative projects across various organizations. At 4X Software Sdn Bhd, I upgraded PostgreSQL from version 9.6 to 14, enhancing performance and security, and migrated databases from AWS to GCP, optimizing cloud infrastructure.
