Cognitive Accessory, “Cognac” for short, is a critical-thinking device and pensieve that links brain-accessing technology, such as Neuralink/Synchron implants or electroencephalography devices, with proactive smart glasses. This speculative device extends brain function and aids critical thinking. It will hold a symbiotic relationship with the human body, autonomously training itself to become more bespoke with each user. With established connections with the brain, the device can capture and record signals, emotions, and sensory information. In other words, the device archives experience, allowing users to relive their lives. Imagine re-experiencing the feeling of holding your newborn for the first time, visiting your bucket-list destinations, graduating, or landing your dream job, reuniting with families after decades just by scrolling through an album. From a user perspective, each photo or video is more than a record of what was seen; it’s a personal narrative, a vessel that carries the emotions. In capturing the fleeting energy of experience, the creator doesn’t simply preserve an image; they invite viewers to step into the moment. As technology advances, I envision a future where capturing experience goes beyond visual records. I imagine integrating brain data into the recording process—using BCIs or EEGs to capture the raw, emotional blueprint of a moment. This fusion of imagery and biometric signals would create a multi-dimensional narrative that encodes the subtle interplay of feelings, thoughts, and sensations.
