Aminah Robinson: Journeys Home, A Visual Memoir

Feiyi Bie is an innovative exhibition designer whose work redefines how museums engage diverse audiences through spatial design, narrative layering, and community-centered interpretation. Currently serving as Exhibition Designer at The Newark Museum of Art since December 2021, Bie's most recent achievement is her design for "Aminah Robinson: Journeys Home, a Visual Memoir," which demonstrates exceptional creativity in translating an artist's complex biographical narrative into an immersive spatial experience.

This Exhibition Design employs a bold narrative system using red for Childhood Home, blue for Ancestral Home and Journeys Home, and orange for Spiritual Home to distinguish thematic sections. This color-coding guides visitors through Robinson's biographical journey while honoring African diaspora aesthetics. The show features salon-style arrangements and integrated multimedia displays, celebrating diverse scales. Angular wall planes create immersive storytelling alcoves. Robinson's symbolic use of color and layered storytelling inspired this chromatic spatial narrative. The design translates her archive-based practice into experiential zones, allowing visitors to physically traverse themes of home and heritage.
