PHO Peony Series

The series constructs a unified visual system through the integration of “peony motifs, Ru ware aesthetics, and contemporary illumination.” Petal-shaped bottles, rouge-red glaze tones, and silver ingot–patterned windowed packaging collectively form a cohesive design. Each item within the collection is shaped by refined petal silhouettes, giving the bottles a sculptural presence when displayed. The outer box features Giuseppe Castiglione’s peony paintings and continuous silver ingot patterns, symbolizing prosperity and longevity. Emphasizing the trilogy of “scientific research, botanical power, and Eastern artifacts,” the series elevates skincare into an elegant ritual while enhancing collectability, durability, and brand recognition.
The aesthetic foundation is rooted in the subtle philosophy of Song dynasty Ru ware, appreciated for its “sky-blue tone and jade-like surface.” Ru ware values restraint over ostentation, where light flows quietly beneath the glaze.
The bottle design adopts this spirit, transforming the qualities of “thickness with softness, translucence with elegance” into a modern crimson-glaze expression. The upper section presents a calm, saturated hue reminiscent of thick Ru glaze deposits, while the lower translucent area evokes the gentle radiance of sky-blue glaze under natural light. Its six curved petal lines reference the peony in full bloom, yet retain the modest proportions of Song ceramics, creating a poetic tension between vessel and flower.
The packaging continues this understated Eastern aesthetic, featuring a peony painting by Giuseppe Castiglione, whose fusion of Western shading and Eastern sensibilities echoes the tonal depth of layered glazes. The silver ingot–patterned cutout reflects the structural order of Song artifacts while symbolizing enduring prosperity.
The series inherits the warmth, restraint, and natural beauty of Ru ware while encapsulating the vitality of flowers and light, allowing each use to feel like holding a quiet radiance from a flourishing era.
