HerdMaster is the first rabbit and cavy breeding-management platform built by a 45-year American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) Convention Best in Show breeder — designed around how serious breeders actually work, not how software companies assume they do.
Most breeding apps treat genetics as a color-prediction toy: pick two animals, see possible coat colors. HerdMaster goes where real breeding decisions are made. It manages the complete operation — herd records, multi-generation pedigrees, litters, sales, customers, and true cost-and-profit tracking — in one offline-capable app. Its standout innovation is a rules-based pairing evaluator that ranks breeding pairings against the breeder’s own goals, and then learns from the breeder’s own results: as litters are recorded and offspring scored, HerdMaster builds a track record of what each animal actually produces, measured fairly against its mates. The longer it’s used, the smarter it gets — with no opaque “AI” guesswork. Every recommendation is transparent, and the breeder always makes the final call.
HerdMaster also removes the biggest barrier to adopting new software: it imports a breeder’s existing pedigree records — full animals, winnings, and litters — in a single pass, something no competitor matches, plus photo-based pedigree scanning to digitize paper records.
The response has been immediate. In its first six weeks, the HerdMaster community page grew to over 1,700 followers, with an active beta-tester program and a launch waitlist. A community poll of 352 breeders directly shaped the feature priorities. Established homestead and breeding creators — with a combined reach in the millions — have partnered ahead of launch.
