Mick, Dylan and Aric Nagra have developed an innovative skin cancer detection app which is the only one in the world available in 80 languages. Skin cancer is the most common cancer worldwide but it is almost entirely preventable. 5 million new cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in North America each year and there are 900 deaths form skin cancer in North America each year. It is also the only cancer that we can visibly observe as it develops in its early stages.

The 15 year old brothers’ mission in creating the Check My Mole app is to save lives through education, early detection and awareness. When detected, diagnosed and treated early, skin cancer is nearly always curable. The free app can reach a diverse global audience allowing for people from various linguistic background around the world to access vital information about skin cancer. The users can perform self examinations by taking a photo of their moles and receive guidance on identifying potential skin cancer signs which can lead to earlier diagnosis and treatment. The app also provides information about skin cancer types, risk factors, prevention strategies and treatment options.

Users can use the app and connect with healthcare professionals in their area if they have a suspicious mole. By enabling self examinations and reducing unnecessary doctor visits, the app can help in managing healthcare costs for users and provide valuable information about their skin to those without immediate access to a medical professional. The app contributes to raising awareness about skin cancer prevention and the importance of regular checks.
