Luchizma — The Shimmering Horizon

Luchizma — The Shimmering Horizon is a speculative vision of a future Eastern European city powered by the gravity and fusion of an artificial star in Earth's orbit. This energy source, monopolized and kept secret by the government, shapes a unique architectural language steeped in mystery and control. Drawing from Brutalism and Constructivism, the city's design is monumental and austere, echoing lost utopias. Influences from Golden Age science fiction add surreal, retro-futuristic elements—glowing towers, cryptic symbols, and vast public spaces governed by unseen forces. In Luchizma, architecture becomes both a spectacle and a tool of authority, blending awe with unease. I created this project as both an expectation of the future and a warning of the imbalanced science innovation without philosophical thoughts.

The Central Square. The shape language of the central city architecture are inspired by UFO. This area is also the center of all signals within the city.

The Architectural Center. Built upon one of the singular points, where the gravity of the artificial star is at maximum to accelerate the growth of crops.

Astronaut Memorial. Memorial with an astronaut sculpture above. Served as a symbol that both represent humans' respect for the explorer, also a hint of potential religious worship towards authority.

Star Gate Portal. Built at the strongest singularity point for transportional experiments.

Greenhouse. Civilian Facility.

Church. A potentially emerging future religion that is based on the imagination of an alien goddess.
